Balvenie's signature offering is aged in Sherry, Bourbon and Refill casks that produce a rich and mellow reward.

Nose: Slight citrus and apple - faint nose, sweetness of caramel. whiffs of cedar and sea salt on the nose

Taste: Soft and viscous on the tongue. Nutty mix with hints of sherry. Musty leather and dark chocolate notes.

Finish: Brief finish, slightly sour. candied fruit. sweetness, peaty vapours.

Overall: Our favorite Balvenie, remarkably smooth and satisfying.

An addition to the notes based after re-tasting the Balvenie Signature 12 - Limited Edition Bottling #4. Unfortunately, the previous notes did not mention which bottling run the bottle was from.

Prominent vanilla on the nose which reappears enrobed in rich, mouth-filling honey sweetness. Slightly smoky and musty with sherry notes lingering long into the finish. No "peaty vapours" detected in this tasting.
Delicious and wonderfully smooth.
